The 2009 Season

District 2-2A should look like this for the 2009-10 season :

Farmerville, Ferriday, Lake Providence, Mangham, Sterlington, Jonesboro-Hodge (football only). This should be a very exciting season.

Early reports indicate that the 2009 season will open up with the Jamboree on August 28th at home against Delhi. The regular season will begin on the road at 3A Carroll in Monroe, before hosting the Oak Grove Tigers at Hamely Field for the home opener. Franklin Parish will await the black cats' arrival in week three for a 2-2A showdown. Then it's back to Hamley Field for Homecoming against St. Fredricks.

The Panthers will travel to Tallulah to take on the Madison Parish Jaguars in a rematch of the "Battle of the Cats ." The Panthers presently house the trophy associated with this game in its inaugural season. They captured the trohpy with a 34-13 win at home.

Week 5 is the start of district play (J-Hodge(H), Sterlington(H), Ferriday(A), Farmerville(A), Mangham(H)). This year will be a do-over of sorts as the Panther will face all of the games played last year at the same places, with the exception of newly added Mangham. The Lake Providence/Mangham match up will occur in Lake Providence.
