Panthers' Season Well Underway

The Lake Providence Panthers started the season with two really tough competitiors. LP played Carroll in its home opener before a packed house at Hamely Field. The atmophere was great for the start of the season. Unfortunately the Panthers dropped this game 46-28.

In week two the Panthers traveled to Oak Grove to avenge a tough loss at home from last year. The Panthers jumped out to a 34-10 first half lead on the legs of junior quarterback Lamar Carraway and a much improved (from week one) "Blue Steel" defense.

The Panthers were unable to hold on in the second half and fell to the Tiger by a score of 50-52.

The Panthers will be at home Friday night against the Franklin Parish Patriots at 7pm.
