First year head coach Dwight Woods and
the newly named General Trass High School Panthers opened the 2013-2014
football season with a convincing 22-6 win over the Carroll High School
Bulldogs. After a scoreless first quarter, QB#12 Allen Bruce put the first
score on the board two minutes into the second quarter on a 13 yard run (2pt

second quarter on a five yard run (2pt attempt good) to give the Panthers a
14-0 lead, leading into the half. Carroll’s lone score came on an interception
return (2pt attempt failed) to cut the Panther lead to 14-6. Jahlil Richardson
scored again four minutes into the fourth quarter on an eight yard run (2pt
attempt good) to give the Panthers a 22-6 lead. The Panther defense held off
two late scoring attempts to secure an impressive win. The Panthers will host
the Caldwell Parish High School Spartans in their home opener Friday night. The
Spartans were 8-3 last season and won their season opener against Delhi Charter
