Panthers Fall in the Mud

The Lake Providence Panthers were topped by Franklin Parish September 18, 2009 in Winnsboro. The Panther football team was beaten 26-6 in Friday's non-district challenge by the host Franklin Parish Patriots.

The Patriots (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Oak Grove. The Tigers come into the non-district challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Oak Grove was beaten by Farmerville, 30-22, in a non-strict challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 0-3 record and really need a win. We will host St. Frederick for Homecoming on Friday, September 25. The Warriors are coming off a 14-6 non-district win over Cathedral (Natchez, MS) and sport 3-1 record.

Numerous mistakes on special teams and a difficulty moving the ball on offense were just too much to overcome.
