Sports Illustrated Features Panthers this Week

The popular sports magazine Sports Illustrated decided to feature the Lake Providence Panthers on their web gallery this week.

The Panthers have come a long way in a short time. Just 2 years ago the Panthers' roster consisted of approximately 25 players; today the Panthers dress 64 players. We have a true Jr. Varsity program that gets the younger players some playing time before being tried in the fire of 2AA football in Louisiana.

The Panthers, who once featured some of the best "Iron man" football players in the state now enjoy the luxury of specializing at a particular position. Making this change has resulted in a number of players becoming state statistical leaders on both sides of the ball and special teams. You can keep up with how these young men compare to others in the state and nation at http://www.maxpreps.com.

The 0-3 Panthers look to get their first win of the season this week against St. Fredricks at Homecoming.

Be sure you are in the house to cheer the Panthers on to victory and their quest for a district title.

GO PANTHER!!!!!!!
